What We Believe
New Era Bible Church

A. Scriptures

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the verbally inspired Word of God, the final authority for
faith and life, inerrant in the original writings, infallible and God-breathed. ( II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:19-21; Psalm 119:160; I
Peter 1:23.

B.  The Godhead

We believe that the Godhead eternally exists in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; and that these three are
one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections (John 1:1-14; II Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 1:1-3;
Genesis 1:26; John 14:26).

C.  The Person and Work of Christ

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Eternal Son of God, as the true God and true man, having been conceived by the Holy
Spirit and born of a virgin, took upon Himself human form that He might redeem a sinful, lost world and reveal God to man.  We
believe Jesus Christ existed before His incarnation.  We believe in His spotless humanity.  We believe in His vicarious death on
the cross, His bodily resurrection the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He is now our merciful and faithful High
Priest, and advocate with the Father for us (Hebrews 4:14-15, 2:17; Luke 1:26-35; I Corinthians 15:3-4; John 1:1, 14; Romans
5:1-10).

D.  The Person of the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person.  The Holy Spirit is the source and power of all acceptable worship, fellowship,
and service, and is our abiding Comforter and Helper, never taking His departure from the believer.  We believe He is ever
present to indwell all believers, baptize them into the Body of Christ, and seal them unto the Day of Redemption.  We believe the
Holy Spirit is active in regeneration and further infills the believer to be a testimony to the world of God's grace.  We believe the
Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8-14; Romans 8:9, 11; Titus 3:5; I Corinthians 12:13;
Ephesians 1:13-14; John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8).

E.  The Total Depravity of Man

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam's sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature,
and became alienated from God; that man is totally depraved, and, of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition (Isaiah
64:6; Romans 3:10-23; Ephesians 2:1-3; Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 5:12).

F.  Salvation

We believe that salvation is the free gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ,
whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 2:8-10; John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; I Peter
1:18-19; John 3:14-17).
